As any resident of Northwest Ohio will tell you, Oak Openings is one of the most beautiful and diverse Metroparks in the Toledo area. It’s especially beautiful in the fall, with over 5,000 acres of sprawling forest, trails, and lakes to explore. For lovers of those rich midwest fall colors, it’s the perfect backdrop for photos. So when Sophia and Brad told me they wanted their photos to feature the fall colors, I knew Oak Openings engagement photos would be a perfect fit.
S & B drove all the way from their home in Cleveland, bringing Brad’s mustang along for a bit of a joy-ride. We started at a local-favorite location called “The Spot”, best known for its towering oak trees. From there, we entered the main part of the park and stopped along the way to capture some images of the winding roads. We ended our session at Evergreen Lake. Of the two larger lakes in the park, Evergreen is more secluded.
These two met for the first time in high school, but like all good things, it took a while for their relationship to happen. They ended up reconnecting years later and knew it was meant to be pretty quickly.
The pair are getting married in July of 2024 at The Elliott in Cleveland. As self-described foodies though, they had their wedding late-night snack picked before they had even picked the venue. They also plan to incorporate little references to their fur-babies into the wedding since the pups and kitty won’t be attending. With all these intentional nods to their relationship, I am BEYOND excited to be a part of their big day.
