Old-world charm meets regal sophistication at The Toledo Club. With grand staircases, wood-paneled ballrooms, and crystal chandeliers, this venue sets the scene for a wedding filled with luxury and tradition. If you love the ‘old-money’ aesthetic, you’re going to LOVE The Toledo Club. Whether you’re dreaming of an intimate gathering or a big fancy reception, The Toledo Club’s timeless elegance ensures a breathtaking experience. This venue offers multiple options for getting ready, ceremony, and reception spaces, each infused with its own character.
In terms of photo locations, The Toledo Club is located in Downtown Toledo, a short distance from a variety of options for wedding party photos and couples portraits. However, if you don’t want to leave the Club itself, winding staircases, arched entryways, and a stunning exterior make for an incredible backdrop for classic, elegant portraits that scream romance and sophistication.
Birchwood Meadow
Birchwood Meadow is one of the newest Toledo wedding venues. If you’re wanting a barn venue but you aren’t wanting things too rustic, Birchwood might be the right choice for you. Nestled on 27 acres of serene country property, this venue can host up to 300 guests and has options for indoor and outdoor ceremonies. Couples have the choice between a beautiful waterfall ceremony in the spring, summer, and fall seasons or a grand indoor ceremony in inclement weather or during the winter.
Aesthetically, Birchwood Meadow is like barn venue but make it grand and elegant. This unique “big timber” barn features impressive 40′ vaulted ceilings with arched big timber trusses in the main hall with arched big timber trusses. The 30′ picture window makes a gorgeous backdrop for both indoor ceremonies and a wedding party table or dance floor. Looking to other spaces, Birchwood offers an upstairs “Bride’s Room” with multiple changing rooms, bathroom, 4 professional make-up stations, 2 professional hair stations, as well as an outdoor deck for a breath of fresh air. The “Groom’s Room” across the hall has leather furniture, an entertainment center including a big screen TV with game station hook ups, 2 mini-fridges, foosball, and more.
When it comes to photos, the entire property is available for couples and their wedding party. The venue is located in the center of a vast tree-lined field. During the spring, you can also catch gorgeous yellow wildflowers on their back-property. It’s also located close to Oak Openings — one of my favorite Toledo photo locations — for wedding party photos and couples portraits.
While the owners of Birchwood are definitely kind and accommodating — allowing couples the flexibility of contracting the caterer and bar services of their choice — I recommend hiring a day-of-coordinator at the very least to help with all your decorating needs. I’ve personally seen Your Perfect Day by April do some incredible things with decor at Birchwood.
The Inverness Club
A landmark in Toledo history, Inverness Club offers an elegant and sophisticated setting for couples looking to host a timeless and upscale wedding. In addition to the main clubhouse and grounds, couples can also choose to utilize the guest house and caretakers cottage.
When it comes to photos, there isn’t much that beats the panoramic views of the 9th and 18th fairways right outside the Clubhouse. In case of inclement weather, however, the interior of the Clubhouse is quite stunning with towering ceilings, classic chandeliers, and rich textures. And for couples that love gothic architecture, University of Toledo’s campus is just a short drive down Dorr Street and makes for a perfect spot for wedding party photos.
Crimson Lane
Just a short drive from Toledo proper, Crimson Lane is a wedding venue gem in rural Ada, Ohio. Upon arriving, couples are greeted by a long, tree-lined driveway with brings you to a gorgeous and modern barn upon a lush wooded backdrop. Next to the dreamy venue is a lake with views that add to the calmness and beauty of the location. They offer several different locations for ceremony spaces and have getting-ready spaces for wedding parties. One of the standout features of Crimson Lane is its large indoor reception hall, with vaulted ceilings, exposed wooden beams, and floor-to-ceiling windows that flood the space with natural light. Little Creek Barn
Rustic doesn’t have to mean sacrificing modernity, and Little Creek Barn in Forest, Ohio proves just that. The Stables
The Stables is one of the most popular wedding venues for couples that want that barn-wedding aesthetic. Surrounded by picturesque countryside, this venue is true to its name, having previously served as horse stables for Wheeler Farms. Having been almost completely renovated, the space provides a warm and inviting space to host your wedding. The scenic outdoor spaces provide a breathtaking backdrop for ceremonies, whether couples choose to exchange vows beneath a charming arbor or in the open fields at sunset. With its spacious layout and timeless aesthetic, The Stables offers a perfect mix of country charm and refined sophistication for an unforgettable celebration.
Couples can choose to have their photos taken on-site in the sprawling field or flowering garden, or they can head down the street to the Whitehouse Christmas Tree Farm, another property owned by Wheeler Farms. Whitehouse Christmas Tree Farm features a giant white barn with a spiral staircase that makes for incredible photos. Similarly to Birchwood Meadow, The Stables are conveniently located near one of my favorite Toledo photo locations – Oak Openings – for couples that want a different vibe for their photos.
Scarlet Oaks Estate
Scarlet Oaks Estate, located south of Toledo off State Route 68, offers a charming and rustic setting for couples looking to host a picturesque countryside wedding. Located in Napoleon, Ohio, Shady Acres is definitely on the more rustic end of the wedding spectrum. The property is definitely unique – with a large pond and walking trails for guests to meander. If your wedding vision includes lantern-lit pathways, rustic wood accents, and a backdrop of a stunningly blue pond, Shady Brook Acres Hitching Post might just be your dream venue. Its intimate charm and countryside views make for an unforgettable wedding day. For couples getting married in the summer months, Shady Acres also offers lavender fields and blooming flowers.

At Sokol & Co, we know that the Renaissance Toledo Downtown Hotel has both an incredible location and a lot of features to love. Nestled in the heart of Downtown, on Summit Street, the Renaissance is just a short walk away from the riverfront, Promenade Park and the sweeping architecture that couples love for wedding photos. From the enormous windows in their hotel suites that make for incredible getting ready photos to the reflection pool that makes for a great backdrop for first looks and ceremonies, there’s a lot to love. Couples that aren’t hosting all of their festivities at the Ren can take advantage of both those features and great location by booking a suite or two for getting ready.
However, couples that choose to pick the Renaissance for the whole kit and caboodle enjoy a few perks. They have a rooftop bar — The Heights — where only couples tying the knot at the Renaissance are allowed to go for their wedding photos. It’s also an incredible option for couples with a bigger guest list. The reception ballroom can accommodate a lot of people — up to 500, in fact.
Hilton Garden at Levis Commons
A chic and versatile venue, The Hilton Garden Inn Perrysburg is situated in the vibrant Levis Commons shopping district. With elegant ballrooms and other spaces that can accommodate up to 600 guests, the Hilton is a great option for couples with huge guest lists. When it comes to photos, the lawn in front of the Levis Commons clocktower is my go-to location. Couples can also venture to nearby parks for their wedding party photos.
Maumee Bay Lodge and Resort
For couples dreaming of a waterfront wedding, Maumee Bay Lodge and Resort is an excellent choice. Nestled within the scenic Maumee Bay State Park along Lake Erie, this venue offers a picturesque setting for nearlywed couples. With a variety of indoor and outdoor venues, including elegant ballrooms and serene lakeside spots, couples can choose the perfect setting to match their vision. The lodge’s professional staff is dedicated to assisting with every detail, from setting up room blocks for guests to curating exceptional culinary experiences, ensuring a seamless and memorable celebration.
When it comes to photos, Maumee Bay State Park is one of my favorite photo locations in all of Toledo. Couples have a variety of landscape to choose from – beachfront access, rolling hills, lush golf course greens, and more.
Greenhouse & Garden Toledo Wedding Venues

Everhart Gathering Place
A hidden gem filled with natural charm, Everhart Gathering Place is a dreamy venue that brings the outdoors in. With its lush greenery and intimate ambiance, it’s the perfect location for couples looking for a serene place to exchange vows. Though it’s not technically in Toledo, I’d be remiss if I didn’t include Everhart Gathering Place on this list.
Everhart Gathering Place is a modern building featuring a wall of windows that provides a stunning view of the lake and mature willow tree. Just steps away is their breathtaking, all-glass Conservatory that offers a stunning indoor options during colder months or an elegant backdrop for an outdoor ceremony. There are a few other outdoor spots that can be utilized for ceremonies, first looks, or simple guest enjoyment. When it comes to getting ready spaces, Everhart has a fully equipped lounge with billiards and shuffleboard. Additionally, Everhart’s newly renovated cabin gives couples the perfect space to prep for the big day, and a cozy honeymoon suite for when the party ends. Overall, Everhart has a lot of options and is the perfect space for couples looking for a greenhouse wedding venue in Toledo, Ohio.
The Toledo Botanical Garden
The Toledo Botanical Garden is a true oasis in the hustle and bustle of Toledo. Spanning ovewr 60 acres, this Toledo Metropark offers stunning scenery and impeccably manicured gardens. It’s diverse spaces provide couples with multiple options to tailor their ceremony and reception to their unique vision. Moving indoors, Toledo Botanical Gardens offers indoor facilities that can accommodate up to 80 guests. While the garden provides the venue space, couples are responsible for coordinating outside vendors – including catering and beverage services. While primarily known for engagement sessions, this venue’s breathtaking landscapes make it an gorgeous and unique spot for a wedding that feels like a fairytale come to life.
Bloom and Bower
For couples looking for a floral-inspired venue, Bloom and Bower provides an intimate garden setting brimming with natural beauty. The charming atmosphere, filled with seasonal blooms and delicate greenery, makes for an effortlessly romantic wedding day.
From the moment you step onto the property at Bloom and Bower, you’re greeted by lush landscapes, charming spaces, and a team that genuinely cares about making your day extraordinary. Margaret, in particular, is a gem. Her passion for weddings shines through in every detail, from coordinating logistics to rolling up her sleeves for floral artistry.
In terms of photo locations, Bloom and Bower is no slouch. From a private garden area beneath a stunning pine to the incredible pond that couples can utilize the adorable yellow canoe, there’s a lot to choose from. This is one of those venues that I highly recommend splurging on drone photography — like this incredible wildflower wedding from 2024. It’s worth it for the boat ride alone!
Holland Gardens
Known for its beautifully landscaped garden and charming gazebo, Holland Gardens provides an ideal backdrop for couples looking for a garden wedding. The space also includes an elegantly appointed banquet hall that can accommodate up to 300 guests, making it suitable for intimate gatherings, micro-weddings, and larger celebrations. In addition, Holland Gardens provides newly renovated, luxurious getting-ready suites for the bridal party. The venue offers comprehensive services, including catering, bar service, and event coordination, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable experience for couples and their guests.
Schedel Gardens and Arboretum
Open seasonally, Schedel Gardens and Arboretum is a 17-acre garden estate – perfect for a dreamy garden wedding. There are six beautifully landscaped and versatile spaces located in either the Traditional Garden or the Japanese Garden areas. Outdoor ceremonies may be held any day of the week May through October, with other months available upon request. While the ceremony spaces can hold up to 300 guests, the indoor reception spaces are cozier with a capacity for up to 90 guests. If you’re looking for a larger guest list for your reception, you’re welcome to bring in a tent for a tented reception of up to 300 guests. The gardens also make for a stunning backdrop for your wedding party photos and couple portraits. Schedel’s is definitely a gem among Toledo wedding venues and you should check it out!
Historic & Timeless Venues in Toledo, Ohio
For couples who want a wedding venue with rich history and timeless elegance, these locations offer grand architecture, classic charm, and an air of romance that makes every moment feel like a storybook dream.
Nazareth Hall
With its castle-like architecture and breathtaking river views, Nazareth Hall genuinely feels like it’s straight out of a story book. Featuring a grand chapel, three unique yet equally stunning reception spaces, and a outdoor ceremony space, this venue is perfect for couples who love classic romance. It could definitely pull double-duty in the romantic & elegant venue category, but with an education history spanning over 50 years, it definitely deserves it’s place atop the historic category.
Owned by a local family, the team at Nazareth Hall is one of my favorites to work with. Their super friendly and every couple gets their own hostess to help the day run smoothly. After shooting no less than 20 weddings at Nazareth, I can confidently say their staff cares about each and every couple. Not to mention, their menu is always 10/10 from appetizers to entrees and the bar serves an incredible Shirley Temple, if I do say so myself. The venue can host up to three weddings a day, but you need not worry about getting lost in the shuffle. The team makes everything run seamlessly.
In terms of photo locations — the world is really your oyster at Nazareth. Couples can choose from the vintage brick architecture, woodsy vibes with their grove of trees, rolling hills, and the unique charm of the grotto. Looking indoors, you’ll find that the venue provides plenty of options for beating the unpredictable Ohio weather with the Chapel, Riverview Library, and penny-floor elevator that gives Gatsby vibes.

Toledo Museum of Art
For couples who appreciate culture and artistry, the Toledo Museum of Art offers an extraordinary venue with a variety of options. Situated in the heart of Toledo, the museum provides a range of stunning event spaces, each showcasing the museum’s world-class collection and beautiful architecture. Couples can choose to exchange vows in the Great Gallery (my favorite of all the galleries), the Greek-inspired Peristyle, or opt for a more modern ceremony surrounded by masterpieces in the Glass Pavilion. With its elegant surroundings and a wide variety of spaces, the Toledo Museum of Art offers a truly unique and unforgettable atmosphere for any wedding celebration.
The museum’s in-house catering team offers exquisite, customizable menu options, and the venue’s experienced staff assists with all aspects of event coordination. Whether hosting a large reception or an intimate gathering, the museum offers flexibility and the ability to bring a couple’s wedding vision to life, with attention to every detail. From the stunning galleries to the manicured outdoor gardens, a wedding at the Toledo Museum of Art is sure to leave a lasting impression on everyone in attendance.
For couples that just want to have their wedding party photos or couples portraits at the museum, the museum has a pretty lenient policy regarding photos. With free entrance and parking, The Toledo Museum of Art is an incredibly inexpensive route for wedding photos. I suggest making a donation when possible. While a donation is optional, if your heart is set on photos inside the museum, I would suggest double-checking museum hours by day-of-schedule and calling ahead to make sure the galleries are available. The front steps of the museum are available for photos, even during off-hours. However, it’s a VERY popular location for photos of all kinds and can be rather crowded on Spring and Fall Saturdays due to local school dances.
Wildwood Manor House
The Wildwood Manor House, situated within the picturesque Wildwood Preserve Metropark, is a historic estate that exudes elegance and charm. Once owned by the prominent Libby family, this Georgian Colonial home provides a variety of charming spaces suitable for both ceremonies and receptions. The front lawn is ideal for outdoor ceremonies, while the back patio overlooks beautifully landscaped gardens, offering a serene backdrop for receptions. The interior boasts spacious rooms with period details, creating a timeless atmosphere for your special day. Overall, the Wildwood Manor House is perfect for couples who want a refined and intimate wedding with a nod to the past.

The venue also allows couples to bring in their own food and beverages, offering flexibility to tailor the event to their preferences. Perfect for smaller weddings, this venue provides a romantic and welcoming atmosphere that makes guests feel right at home.

Cork & Knife Provisions is right in the heart of Downtown Toledo, just steps away from the home of the Toledo Farmers Market. Their event space is small and charming, but the thing that sets this venue apart is the food. The Cork and Knife team specializes in crafting personalized catering experiences for weddings and other private events. They collaborate closely with couples to design custom menus that reflect their unique tastes and preferences, ensuring a memorable dining experience for guests. With a focus on quality ingredients and meticulous preparation, Cork & Knife Provisions offers a diverse range of culinary options, from elegant plated dinners to interactive food stations. I’ve been to Cork & Knife several times at this point and have never been disappointed by a single menu item or cocktail.
