Emily and Joel’s Detroit wedding at the historic Packard Proving Grounds was nostalgic, timeless, and elegant! From arriving in a classic car to heartfelt moments with family and friends, their special day was a celebration to remember.

A Birthday Flirtation That Led to Forever

Emily and Joel’s love story began in a bar on Emily’s birthday. Joel bravely asked for her number after some flirtatious hints, and that was the start of their story together. They share a love for true crime, cats, and indulging in wine, whiskey, and bourbon. It was clear from the start that these two were meant to be!

Getting Ready at the Hotel

The day started with Emily getting ready at the hotel with her bridesmaids and her sister helping her into her stunning dress from Spring Sweet. Her hair and makeup were done to perfection by Runway Salon, and everyone was dedicated to making sure Emily looked her absolute best. Meanwhile, Joel and his groomsmen prepared at the couple’s house, sharing a shot of whiskey to calm the nerves!

First Look and Ceremony Arrival

Emily and Joel both read letters from each other before the ceremony, a moment that brought tears to their eyes. Emily’s arrival at the ceremony in a classic car was a showstopper, perfectly fitting the vintage vibes of the Packard Proving Grounds! Joel’s reaction to seeing Emily was priceless — there were definitely tears and lots of smiles.

Ceremony at Packard Proving Grounds

The ceremony was filled with heartfelt moments, including a unity ceremony where they locked a box containing letters to each other and a bottle of wine, to be opened on a future anniversary. Emily’s friend performed a touching song, adding to the already nostalgic vibes of the day. After exchanging vows, Emily and Joel exited in style, riding away in their classic car!

Reception Highlights

The reception was held in the beautiful ballroom at Packard Proving Grounds, filled with minimalistic decor and pops of green, with classic cars to keep the vintage theme going. Guests enjoyed a variety of delicious options from a Detroit Food Truck, and everyone packed the dance floor!

One of the most memorable parts of the evening was the photo blitz, where Emily and Joel took a photo with every table at the reception. It was a fun way to make sure they captured moments with all their guests. The dance floor, fueled by CC King Entertainment, was alive all night with everyone busting a move and celebrating the newlyweds.

Some Extra Personal Details

Emily and Joel’s wedding was rich with personal details that made the day uniquely theirs. Their rings were family heirlooms, adding a layer of sentimentality.
